As Director at Large, my goal is to help the Texas Chapter grow by providing thoughtful insight to bring the community together in new and unique ways by implementing innovative ideas toward this goal. We can accomplish more together. And sometimes you just need to throw puppies in the mix! Right?

As an Independent Rug Concierge known as the “Dallas Rug Guy," Bryce Smith is quickly becoming a prominent figure in the world of interior design. Based in Dallas, Texas, he collaborates closely with showrooms and Interior Designers across the nation, specializing in handpicked rugs that perfectly match their clients' needs, style preferences, and budgetary considerations.

Smith's involvement in the design community extends beyond his role as an ASID Industry Partner since 2018. Currently serving as the Chair of the Dallas ASID Design Community Committee, he actively contributes to sustained growth through camaraderie. His personal belief and motivation for the community are encapsulated in the phrase “Together We Thrive.”

A classically-trained, award-winning opera singer who has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington DC and with the Berlin Symphony at the Bödemuseum in Berlin, Smith boasts a diverse professional background. His work has included positions like Showroom Manager for RenCollection Rugs, Visuals Manager at JCPenney, Inventory Control Manager for TransitCenter in NYC, and Marketing Manager for Bud's Ale House in NYC. These varied experiences ensure he brings a highly unique skill set to his rug curation expertise.

Honored as a Horatio Alger Association National Scholar, Bryce Smith's educational journey in Vocal Performance and Theatrical Set Design commenced at Jones County Junior College and continued at the music and theater department of the University of Southern Mississippi and culminated in the prestigious young artist programs at Opera Colorado and Central City Opera Association. This educational background provides Smith with a unique perspective in the design industry, enabling him to seamlessly blend his passions and assist designers in crafting visually stunning spaces. He firmly believes it is his responsibility to help transform beautiful houses into beloved homes.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Smith is an active member of The Dallas Opera Chorus, showcasing his love for music and performance. Furthermore, his commitment to the community is evident in his role as a foster parent to over 250 dogs for organizations like Rockwall Pets and Operation Kindness.
