Industry members – i.e., those who are not design Practitioners, Educators or Students – have a few membership options within ASID:
Affiliate members include manufacturer’s reps, contractors and installers, consultants and strategists, facility managers, real estate professionals, and more.
Industry Partners include manufacturers, suppliers, and resource providers.
Affiliate Partners provide a unique benefit for ASID members and the interior design community. In other words, they work with the design community but do not fit under the Industry Partner category.
On a national level, each of the three levels has slightly different benefits, which you can find through the following links:
On a Texas Chapter level, we essentially extend the same benefits to all three levels, and here are ways you can take advantage of your membership on a more local level:
Your membership is all about access and exposure. Our industry is built on trust, and two very effective ways to establish those rewarding, long-lasting relationships are to:
Our large chapter is made up of five Design Communities – Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and West Texas – and we are trying to start a sixth: Texoma.
When you become an ASID industry member and designate the Texas Chapter as your Chapter, you belong to the ENTIRE Society and the ENTIRE Chapter, not just the Design Community closest to you; therefore, we welcome – and strongly encourage you – to participate in as many events as possible to get to know our Designer members.
Since 2021 we have held our annual ASID Texas Conference – Celebrating Design Texas: Education, Expo & Awards (CDT) – in Dallas in either July or August. This is the only event that brings the ENTIRE chapter together since 95% of the programming in our geographically large chapter takes place on the Design Community level.
We are thrilled to announce, however, that ASID Headquarters has chosen to hold the 2026 version of GATHER, the ASID National Conference, in Dallas September 16-18, 2026! This dynamic event will bring together ASID members from all across the USA and will overlap with Dallas Market Center's ArchLIGHT Summit and Dallas Design Week for even more value.
For this reason, in 2026 the ASID Texas Chapter will not hold the Education & Expo portion of CDT – i.e., there will be no conference because we want our members to attend and support GATHER26. However, we will still hold the CDT Awards design competition*, and we anticipate holding a celebratory Awards event in conjunction with GATHER26 during the week of September 14. Stay tuned for details!
*The design competition has two categories – Commercial: Industry Collaboration and Residential: Industry Collaboration – available for Industry members to enter. Entries must highlight a feature(s) or product(s) created by the Designer entrant but exclusively developed with the help of / in conjunction with an ASID Industry Partner (IP) or a non-designer ASID Affiliate and their specialized expertise and manufacturing capabilities. The ASID IP or Affiliate must be in good standing.
Our Chapter Event Calendar is the go-to place for all chapter activities - both in-person and online - planned by our volunteer leaders and other ASID members. FYI: Non-members are not allowed to list events here.
So if your company is giving a CEU, throwing a networking social, celebrating a corporate milestone, or launching a new product, be sure to submit that information via THIS ONLINE FORM.
The Chapter ENewsletter is emailed to all ASID Texas members – i.e., Designers, Educators, Affiliates, Students, and Industry Partners – the first Monday of each month (unless holidays interfere or the first Monday is too far into the month).
All events listed on the Chapter Event Calendar will automatically appear in that month’s e-newsletter, but the deadline to make the e-newsletter is the Wednesday before it comes out.

Every year we publish a printed Chapter Roster, which includes a list of our Industry Representatives and now our new membership level of Affiliates. We pull the list from the ASID Headquarters database; therefore, you always want to keep your company's representative list and contact information up-to-date by logging into your account at asid.org so that printed listings will be as accurate as possible.
We pulled the list of all members under the umbrella of the ASID Texas Chapter from the ASID Headquarters database October 14, 2025 for the 2026 Roster, which should hit mailboxes in January, and we'll follow a similar schedule for the next Roster.
Note that every official member – except for Students – in good standing with a mailing address listed is mailed a copy of the Chapter Roster after it is published.
[IMPORTANT: Due to legal reasons, we are prohibited from distributing our members’ email addresses electronically. If you are having an event and want to invite ASID Texas Chapter Practitioners, take the printed Chapter Roster and build an email list manually. The process will take about two hours.]

Some of our Design Communities have Designer’s Choice Awards (DCA) honoring Industry members for their favoriate products, services and company representatives. Only Designer and Educator members are allowed to vote, and the ballots include only ASID Industry members in good standing at the time of voting. Those who win get recognized in person at an event, receiving an award that can be displayed in a company showroom or office, as well as recognized online. It’s just one more reason to keep your membership current as Design Communities hold their DCAs at different times during the year!
ASID Industry Partners, Affiliate Partners, and individual Affiliate members have their own official Member Marks. You should be using it on email signatures, as well as on company websites and print advertising, to show ASID Designer, Educator and Student members you support the Society as a member.
[IMPORTANT: These Member Marks are DIFFERENT than the ASID logo or the ASID Texas Chapter logo, which never should be used as a Member Mark.]
Download the appropriate Member Mark by logging in to your account at asid.org and going to the Member Mark webpage.
At ASID Texas, we’re combining our passion for design with a commitment to sustainability. Through our Samples for Education program, we’re collecting outdated design samples from our members and donating them to our Educator members at local high schools and colleges. This initiative supports future designers while keeping valuable materials out of landfills. Learn more about how easy it is to donate your extra samples HERE.
The ASID Texas Chapter is proud to continue our very successful “One Ask, One Give” Sponsorship Program, bringing you coverage across the entire Texas Chapter and not in only one Design Community. Annual Chapter Sponsorships go on sale mid-November and usually continue until May 1. Learn more details HERE.
