The ASID Texas Chapter Member Awards recognize those who have provided exemplary volunteer service to the chapter. Each of the awards is named after an individual who has exuded the characteristics all of us should admire and strive to emulate. They both left a legacy behind, setting the bar for us all to reach for in our own dedication to the interior design industry through the Texas Chapter of ASID.
We are pleased to announce that the following members were recognized for their service to the chapter by winning 2026 Texas Chapter Member Awards:
THE KATHY HAMMOND INDUSTRY MEMBER AWARD
Kathy Hammond was praised for her commitment to professionalism, keen sense of style, and eagerness to support the community. She consistently stepped up to the plate, always willing and eager to contribute where the need arose. This award is for an Industry Member who has continually and enthusiastically supported the Texas Chapter through their contribution of time, energy, materials, and resources.
LARRY WALLACE, ASID Affiliate of Elements Room has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ASID through his leadership, generosity, and genuine dedication to supporting the design profession. He has graciously hosted many successful events at his San Antonio showroom, creating opportunities for designers, students, and industry professionals to connect, learn, and grow together. What sets him apart is not only what he does, but how he does it. He is kind, considerate, approachable, and exceptionally supportive. His generosity, servant leadership, and unwavering support embody the spirit of this award.
THE ROBERT PRESTON HENRY AWARDS
Serving as ASID Texas Chapter president from 1993-1994, Robert Preston Henry actively promoted the profession he loved so much through a vibrant career spanning 60 years of dedication. He cultivated a love for interior design and was devoted to ASID. Individuals nominated for one of these three awards radiate the same vibrant eagerness to support the chapter through volunteerism and commitment to peers, events and the chapter as a whole.
On the Rise Legacy Award
This individual is still immersed in their interior design studies while being plugged in and eager to volunteer time and energy at the student level, encouraging peers and fellow members alike to further advance the interior design profession, the chapter, and ASID.
SKYE VIELLE, ASID Student is deeply committed to strengthening the relationship between students and the professional design community, recognizing that collaboration and mentorship are essential to helping students build successful careers. She consistently encourages student involvement while creating opportunities for meaningful connections between emerging designers and industry professionals. Her commitment is evident through her actions. At nearly every ASID event in San Antonio she volunteers at the guest registration table, intentionally taking the time to meet members of the design community, build relationships, and make every guest feel welcome. She understands that networking is about creating genuine connections, and she leads by example.
Emerging Legacy Award
This individual is relatively new to ASID but is supporting the chapter with lots of time and energy, all with a fresh outlook and positive attitude.
THU TRINH, ASID Allied has been a very involved and an eager member, moving from attending most, if not all, of her Dallas Design Community events, to accepting a co-chair position for a chapter-wide committee. With the mid-term unplanned board reassignment, she stepped into her newest and current role on the Chapter Board with enthusiasm and a passionate gusto for her new assignment. She is always keen to learn from her fellow leaders, peers and past Presidents to understand the ASID Brand with respect to our Texas Chapter legacy. She truly has our Chapter members' best interests at heart, and we are excited to see how she continues to grow, evolve and emerge as a leader.
Longevity Legacy Award
This individual has graced the ASID Texas Chapter with support, time and energy for six or more years of consecutive membership.
LISA BARRON, ASID does not simply hold a membership; she breathes life into the ASID Texas Chapter. Her longevity is marked by a rare combination of creative excellence and selfless service. She has given her time when it was scarce, her energy when it was most needed, and her leadership when direction was vital. For a lifetime of service that has shaped our past, present, and future, this member absolutely deserves the Longevity Legacy Award.
