Technology and Livability: How Smart Homes Improve Daily Life

Almost every home is a smart home, but not every buyer understands what smart home technology can do for them. A smart home is often thought to be about entertainment, but that is only a small part of what it can do. A smart home is a more livable home, which we define as a home that is more enjoyable, useable, safe and sustainable. Through smart appliances, automatic controls for window shading and lighting, and control systems for water consumption and HVAC, smart home technology can reduce energy usage and costs, increase system life, and improve the health of a home’s occupants. We will discuss the practical side of smart home technology, and how it can help make any home a better place to live.

Attendance is limited to 120 people, and registrations close at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 8th.
