415 Design Industry Members Come Together for Celebrating Design Texas: Education, Expo & Awards

Despite the summer heat and a worldwide Microsoft meltdown, 415 design professionals, educators, students, and industry members from across the state and beyond gathered in Dallas July 17-19, 2024 at our ASID Texas Chapter Conference, Celebrating Design Texas: Education, Expo & Awards (CDT). Attendees came together to learn, source, socialize, and recognize the design achievements and volunteer spirit of the talented members of our beloved interior design industry.

Both ASID members and non-members alike came together learn, source, socialize, and recognize the design achievements and volunteer spirit of the talented members of our beloved industry, and the volunteer planning Committee purposely kept conference fees low for both Attendees and Exhibitors in order to bring as many members of our industry together as possible.

14 hours of IDCEC-approved HSW CEUs on a variety of subjects, including lighting, materials, sustainability, accessibility, and more
A 37-vendor Expo showcasing residential and commercial offerings
Four 30-minute Pop-Up Talks focused on business, career development and relationship-building related subjects
Two different Design Insiders Tours of the DMC Campus
Dedicated Student Programming with experienced professionals

AWARDS COCKTAIL PARTY

The conference was capped off by a fun and energetic Awards Cocktail Party hosted by American Leather in their gorgeous showroom. Over 175 party-goers enjoyed refreshing cocktails and beautiful, delicious canapes while they celebrated the talented winners of the 2024 Celebrating Design Texas Awards, the annual design competition recognizing the finest interior design achievements within the ASID Texas Chapter.

Current ASID Texas Chapter President Veronica Sanders, ASID Allied, thanked her Chapter Board, Design Community Leaders, and other Chapter Leaders for all of their collective hard work throughout her term. She then recognized the deserving recipients of the 2024 Texas Chapter Member Awards for volunteerism and the worthy beneficiaries of her 2024 President’s Awards.

ASID National Chair John Cialone, FASID briefly addressed the crowd, lavishing praise on the excellent volunteerism, leadership, enthusiasm and talents within the Texas Chapter, while extolling the accomplishments of our members, our chapter, and the Society overall.

Before the end of the evening, host American Leather generously raffled off an attractive sofa and lounge chair. The extremely fortunate winners were Amy Mints, ASID Affiliate of Interior & Textile Solutions and Aimee Minnich of Kat Black Interiors. Enjoy!
