The ASID Texas Chapter Diversity in Design Small Business Grant offers financial support to underrepresented individuals or groups who identify as Minority, LGBTQ+, Disabled, and the Aging Population (65+). The grant aims to support ASID National efforts and the members to improve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the interior design community.

This grant is open to ASID Texas Chapter members with a for-profit business experiencing a financial need or looking to take their business to the next level. The submissions will be evaluated on the level of financial need, supporting documentation, and expected use of the grant. By submitting the application, you certify that all the information provided is accurate and true.

 

Application Requirements:
  • Explanation of how the grant will help improve their business. (500 word maximum)
  • Explanation of how the funds will be used. (500 word maximum)
  • Provide Profit & Loss Statements.
  • Keep records of how you use the funds.
  • Primary Applicant’s Biographical Statement.
  • Testimonial within 1 year of how the grant improved your small business.

  • Advertising & Marketing

 

Selection Process:

The Diversity in Design Small Business Grant selection process requires applicants to submit their applications via THIS ONLINE FORM. Once submitted, applications undergo peer review from the ASID Texas Chapter Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force Committee. The selection process is based on eligibility, completeness of the application, and financial need.

Our committee carefully reviews each application and votes on the winning applicant. In the event of a tie vote between multiple applications, the ASID Texas Chapter Board will select the final winning applicant. The winner will be notified via the email address provided on their application. The winning applicant may be asked to submit additional information. This is to ensure that we have all the necessary details to make an informed decision and to follow the ASID National Bylaws and Policies as well as the ASID Texas Chapter Procedures.

Finally, the winner will be publicly announced on the date selected above. We wish all applicants the best of luck and look forward to supporting diverse small businesses in our community.
