Announcement About 2023 Design Community Design Competitions

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision to pause the individual Design Community (DC) design competitions for 2023 and only feature the Celebrating Design Texas Awards, the design competition open to the entire Texas Chapter.

We realize this decision may disappoint some of our Designer members. Please GO HERE to read a thorough explanation of the reasons behind this decision.

Austin Design Excellence Awards

This design competition is open to ASID members in good standing who belong to the ASID Texas Chapter Austin Design Community. The 2022 competition was open for submissions April 4-May 13, and the winners were announced at an event on October 13.

Dallas Design Ovation Awards

This design competition is open to ASID members in good standing who belong to the ASID Texas Chapter Dallas Design Community. The 2022 competition was open for submissions March 1-March 31, and the winners were announced at an event on May 19.

Fort Worth Shining Star Awards

This design competition is open to ASID members in good standing who belong to the ASID Texas Chapter Fort Worth Design Community, which includes former members of the Texas Chapter West Texas Design Community, who were merged with the Fort Worth Design Community in the fall of 2020. The 2022 competition was open for submissions April 4-May 13, and the winners were announced at an event October 20.

San Antonio Pinnacle of Design Awards

This design competition is open to ASID members in good standing who belong to the ASID Texas Chapter San Antonio Design Community, which includes former members of the Texas Chapter El Paso Design Community, who were merged with the San Antonio Design Community in the fall of 2020. The 2022 competition was open for submissions April 4-May 13, and the winners were announced at an event July 28.

ASID National Awards

The ASID National Awards represent the Society’s highest level of professional recognition. The awards primarily recognize a body of work created over the course of a career rather than a specific member achievement. ASID Ones to Watch Awards

ASID recognizes the need to grow diversity and inclusion in the interior design profession. Through ASID Ones to Watch, the Society supports rising leaders to ensure that diversity is reflected at all levels of the industry.

Each year, the ASID Ones to Watch program identifies and recognizes rising leaders in the interior design industry who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential and a willingness to push the boundaries of the profession. They are poised to take the next step in their careers. Up to 20 applicants will be honored as ASID Ones to Watch Award Winners within four unique categories: Design Excellence, Education Leadership, Manufacturing Leadership, and Volunteer Leadership.
