Impact of 2024 Diversity in Design Small Business Grant

As we look ahead to 2025, we reflect on the ASID Texas Chapter’s continued commitment to diversity in design. The inaugural recipient of our Diversity in Design Small Business Grant, CEO of The Prototype Porsche Williams, ASID Affiliate, has shared with the committee how impactful the grant has been on her business.

Below are some highlights of how each investment has been strategically made to enhance their services and expand their reach within the interior design community.

Expense Overview
  1. Marketing and Content Creation: 47%
  2. Technology and Tools: 8%
  3. Training and Development: 13%
  4. Recruitment: 1%
  5. Payroll: 39%

Progress Highlights

Thanks to these investments, they have significantly increased their social media presence and refined their messaging, leading to the development of new workshops and a series of online courses tailored specifically for interior designers.

Their first course, launching in January 2025, is titled "The Designer's Guide to Reliable Lead Generation: Build, Scale, and Grow." This course aims to take the guesswork out of lead generation and create a scalable system that fuels design businesses.

They have also successfully presented to and forged partnerships with Business of Home, MyDoma Studio, and Designed for the Creative Mind.

While the interior design industry faces challenges due to economic factors, they have pivoted their focus as a company to solely serve interior designers. Porsche is confident in their decision to introduce a productized component to their services, which will diversify their revenue sources and lower the barrier for new designers to engage with them through courses and other digital products.
